First Floor: Powder Room
The powder room is a small 5' by 5' room off of the open plan kitchen/living space. For this particular one, the client wanted something that made a statement; Something to make visitors say "WOW!" when they walked into the room. We didn't need to think about things like ample lighting for makeup application, or storage space for toiletries-just a simple, modern and exaggerated space for every day use.
Planning the general idea was the base. Keeping the tones dark, moody, and minimal was the key.
The sink was the biggest debate throughout this whole process. We started by having concrete product designers quote us on custom ramp sinks (which we ended up not using in this space) and eventually settled on a pedestal sink. Keeping matte black hardware was a must in this space.
We did end up changing the tiles and the pendant light too, but for the most part the overall feel stayed the same.
